So, guess what?

I am seriously considering pledging to a sorority! Yup! Me. A sister.
Really, I don't think it's all that much of a stretch.
More specifically,

Heh.

I did go out with other sororities, but I wasn't really interested in them. After the first couple of times, I started thinking, "Hm.. well, maybe.." That week on campus we had an activities fair and they had tables set up for Greek Life. The girls I tried to talk to were.. let's just say uninterested in me. So, I was really put off by the whole idea until I went out with my friend Amy's sorority. And honestly-I loved the girls instantly. I even learned most of their names-which is a nice change from referring to "the girl with the.. um.. pink shirt?"

Anyway, I'm about 99.9% sure that I really want to do this.

In the meanwhile..

I picked up the latest issue of the Montclairion (which I quit, btw) and they trashed on Rilo Kiley's new album. Ef them. As I said, when I first picked up the CD-the sound wasn't what I expected. I admit that. However, it is all together a tribute to 80s music, but they, by far, approved on that. So what if the CD was inspired by specific sounds? I would walk into their office and scream at them if they said a word against MIKA for committing the same 'crime'.

In other news.. I should have done this earlier..
I went to a critic screening of Mr. Woodcock sometime last week or the week before or something.

Let's see.. what else?

I worked out for the first time since I found out about my cyst! And oh goodness-it was fantastic. I will be going back to the gym a lot. It is so nice to run and be active without having the feeling that you're getting stabbed in the side. The scars suck, but it was worth it.

Well, I think that's about it.

Peace. Love. Happiness.

Well, well, well. You're here! Yay!

So, this is my new journal. If you read [info]stupid_cat  I'll let you know that this is probably going to be a little different. I really want to make this about something more than just my life. Rather, things that affect my life and what I think about them. Essentially, still my thoughts-just with.. visual aids. And some other fun stuff.

The new Rilo Kiley CD, Under the Blacklight, came out about a week ago. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I liked it at first. It is not what I expected from the group. Since I do really love the band, though, I decided to give the CD another shot and it grew on me. To me, it sounds a bit 80s in sound. Also to mention, they do make use of a choir for back-up vocals. Of course, I could be wrong, but that's the impression I feel. The lyrics are actually very typical of Rilo Kiley: deep, mysterious, sad, morbid and full of emotion (mostly being the failure of love). It's a unique sound and my favorite song is "15". Jenny Lewis' voice is as strong as ever. I do have to say that I noticed the absense of Blake Sennett (you might know him as Ronnie Pinsky on Salute Your Shorts or Joseph 'Joey the Rat' Epstein on Boy Meets World). Right now, the band is on tour and I really hope that I could try and see them live.
