Well, well, well. You're here! Yay!
So, this is my new journal. If you read
stupid_cat I'll let you know that this is probably going to be a little different. I really want to make this about something more than just my life. Rather, things that affect my life and what I think about them. Essentially, still my thoughts-just with.. visual aids. And some other fun stuff.

The new Rilo Kiley CD, Under the Blacklight, came out about a week ago. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I liked it at first. It is not what I expected from the group. Since I do really love the band, though, I decided to give the CD another shot and it grew on me. To me, it sounds a bit 80s in sound. Also to mention, they do make use of a choir for back-up vocals. Of course, I could be wrong, but that's the impression I feel. The lyrics are actually very typical of Rilo Kiley: deep, mysterious, sad, morbid and full of emotion (mostly being the failure of love). It's a unique sound and my favorite song is "15". Jenny Lewis' voice is as strong as ever. I do have to say that I noticed the absense of Blake Sennett (you might know him as Ronnie Pinsky on Salute Your Shorts or Joseph 'Joey the Rat' Epstein on Boy Meets World). Right now, the band is on tour and I really hope that I could try and see them live.
